pee pee on the potty

Eventhough he calls everything "go poop poo" We are currently on day two of Jake using the potty for one of his bathroom breaks during the day. He has only gone pee, but we are so proud! It is all him too...Joe and I have not done any prompting except for the subtle hints of telling him I would no longer have to pull him aside and wipe his butt anymore if he would start going on the potty...not sure if those words will work or not, but in all honesty I just wasn't anywhere near pushing him towards that, especially with the baby coming later this year. But, in Jake fashion he has done it all on his own and does not think it is really all that big of a deal, except for the set of new matchbox cars he got today as a reward. We shall see, and I am not placing any expectations on him, but if it does keep going this way maybe we will have one potty trained by the end of the year?!? That sure would be nice!

scar-face

Brock got himself a sweet scar the other weekend and it almost made me faint. We were outside playing and Dirk was up on his hind legs looking over the fence, meanwhile Brock decided to walk up next to him. Shortly after that Dirk came down on top of Brock and this is what ended up. It didn't bleed much (THANK THE LORD) but it scared me half to death and after the event was over I realized I was light headed from the small amount of blood. I am dead meat being a mom of all boys so far.

fillin' big shoes

I have a ton to update on here...but I wanted to do a quick post because I just thought this was too cute. Jake trying to wear his daddy's shoes. We are trying to wear mommy's too at times...that gets really interesting! Daddy's boots, sandals and running shoes. Jake is trying his best to fill those out...wrong feet and all!

last day of mother's day out

this happened to us a while ago, but I am just now getting around to posting the pics of how much fun these two had with the balloons that we got to take with us as we left that day. Even Brock got himself a balloon, which we are now learning that we have to get two of everything to keep the peace around here.
It was bitter sweet leaving his teachers, knowing we will have new ones for him next year, but it is good for him to experience new things, so I am excited. We also found out that these teachers from this year were able to get Brock into their class for this next year...I am so pumped about that, since Jake had two of the coolest teachers ever. I am ready for Brock to get to experience that...this past year was great bonding time for the two of us while Jake was at school, I am glad we had that time before we put him in school himself, but I have to admit I am pretty pumped to have some hours to myself in the fall.

We caught this one video the other day of Jake. He was cracking us up. Totally fearlessly falling without hands or anything...maybe a little surfer?? Who knows...enjoy!
